4 drug addicts held in Pabna; arms recovered

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four drug addicts and recovered two firearms in separate drives in Sadar upazila early Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-12 conducted a drive at a place near Pabna Polytechnic School and College late at night and arrested four people while taking illegal drugs.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Babu, 35, son of A Mannan, Mohammad Afan, 38, son of late A Rahman of Doni Ramchandrapur village, Khokon Sheikh, 26, son of Joynal Sheikh of Shibrampur village and Mohammad Billal, 45, son of Abu Taher of Doni Raghobpur village.
In another incident, acting on secret information that a group of armed miscreants were holding a clandestine meeting at Khoyerbagan bazaar area at about 2:30 for committing crime the same team raided the area.
Sensing the presence of the elite force the miscreants managed to flee the scene. Later, the RAB personnel recovered one country made revolver and one country made rifle from the spot.
